A practical privacy note for a local-first tool collection.
doingthegood.work is designed so the tools are useful without a broad data-collection model. Most of the work done inside the tools stays in your browser, including the 14 tools that now offer optional AI assistance.
Tool data
Most tool state is stored locally in your browser so the tools can reopen quickly and keep your current session or recent setup close at hand. That can include names, prompts, notes, session state, and other data you enter into the tools. This data is not intended to be synced to an account or stored in a central application database by default.
Optional AI requests
Some tools include optional AI actions such as summarizing, clustering, rewriting, or suggesting next steps. Nothing is sent to the AI service unless you trigger one of those actions. When you do, only the current tool's structured state and any text you provide for that action are sent for processing.
Contact and advertising forms
If you use the contact or advertising forms, the information you submit is processed to send an email. That may include your name, email address, company, message, and any advertiser-specific details you provide. These forms also use hCaptcha to reduce abuse, and submissions are sent through Resend for email delivery.
Third-party services
OpenRouter, hCaptcha, Resend, and any external links from this site operate under their own terms and privacy practices. If you interact with those services, their policies may also apply to you.
